Our 3 Night Silent Retreat is a beautiful support for living more fully in the world. On the first weekend, spring has arrived and gardens are being tilled. By our last experience with this retreat in mid-August, we'll be eating tomatoes from that garden at lunch. As we turn within, in a collective practice, we do our own "composting" and benefit from the richness of learning the arts of acceptance and gratitude.

You'll experience meditation (both sitting and walking), yoga practice, Breema: The Art of Being Present, playfulness, poems, delicious and vital vegetarian meals, time in nature and 45 minutes of Breema treatment time. This retreat includes 15 hours of class time, so you can really benefit from these arts and continue your practice at home. Free time is included to give you space to settle in, enjoy the property and take care of yourself. One thing that was clear to us in 2020 more than ever before is how important this immersion in nature is. We are grateful to be able to provide all treatments and classes on our deck by the pond - a safe and vibrantly-beautiful location. Dave and Alana Pratt will lead the retreat, and they ask that you read all of the details below if you are interested in attending.

Details

Safety: We will continue to use physical distancing, and all classes and treatments will be done outside for the greatest safety and the benefit of being in nature, which is truly a food in itself. For treatments, both therapist and recipient will wear masks until further notice.

Attendance: Your full participation in this retreat supports you yourself and the rest of the group. We ask that everyone join us for the entire retreat. Please be seated at the classroom deck five minutes prior to the start of each session.

Silence: Participants will observe silence throughout the retreat.

Meditation: Most meditation periods will include sitting and walking meditation. The forms we will use are easy to follow and will include guidance as needed.

Self-Breema and Yoga: Both Self-Breema and Yoga classes at True Nature are revitalizing and support both natural presence and body-mind connection. Beneficial and accessible to both new and longtime students, these classes have a balancing and centering effect which can grow throughout our time together.

Breema bodyworkTreatments: All participants will receive 45 minutes of Breema bodywork. Breema is particularly helpful at releasing tension, balancing the emotions and allowing the mind to become quiet. Treatments are a pleasure to receive and support the body’s instinctive healing energy, nurturing vitality instead of focusing on symptoms of illness or imbalance. Our protocol during the pandemic is that both Dave and recipients will wear masks.

Meals: Meals will be vegetarian with an emphasis on organic and local ingredients and served in individually-boxed containers.  Vegan and gluten-free options will be offered at each meal. Upon registration, you will have an opportunity to let us know of any food sensitivities or concerns.

What to bring: Please bring your own bedding, (including blankets) bath towel and toiletries. Also, plan to bring your own meditation cushion, yoga mat, a blanket for yoga. Please bring socks to Self-Breema class, regardless of the season. Dave makes beautiful wooden meditation benches that can be purchased. We also have some zafus (meditation cushions) for sale, but be sure to check on availability in advance. Either one can be shipped to you or we can simply reserve yours and you can pick it up when you arrive. Buy meditation supplies here.
