Silent Retreats

Next dates to be announced...

The 3 Day Silent Retreat is a rich gift to give to yourself, and this particular weekend is limitted to a small group of 4-6 people. Students tell us that it is both a deeply nourishing experience and one that brings clarity and gratitude for life. You're invited to come and meet new friends as we sink into the quiet together, working through the challenges and receiving the benefits of our shared practice.

The retreat includes plenty of time as a group in meditation (both sitting and walking), yoga classes, Breema: The Art of Being Present and a few other playful activities. Some classes will be held outside weather-permitting, and free time is included to enjoy nature. Dave and Alana Pratt will lead the retreat, along with one other experienced teacher. Please read all of the details below if you are interested in attending. The itinerary is also posted at the bottom of this page.

Details

Registration/Donation: You must register for this retreat in advance. A non-refundable deposit of $75 is required when you register. This helps cover food and other preparatory costs. * Beyond your deposit, you are invited to give what feels right to you at the end of the retreat. Please keep in mind that this is not intended to be a free retreat. Your donation supports the continuation of retreats like this one. Call Dave at 330-473-0402 or register now and then pay your deposit.

Attendance: Your full participation in this retreat supports you yourself and the rest of the group. We ask that everyone join us for the entire retreat. Please be seated in the classroom five minutes prior to the start of each session.

Silence: Participants will observe silence throughout the retreat. There will be one or two exceptions to this, and clear guidelines will be given at those times.

Meditation: Most meditation periods will include sitting and walking meditation. The forms we will use are easy to follow and will include guidance as needed.

Meals: Meals will be vegetarian with an emphasis on organic and local ingredients.  Both vegan and gluten-free options will be offered at each meal. With registration, you will have an opportunity to let us know of any food sensitivities or concerns.

What to bring: Meditation Cushions and yoga mats will be provided, but, if you have your own, please do bring them.

Overnight Lodging:

There are two options for lodging.

1.) Some participants can be lodged right here at True Nature. Lodging onsite is offered first-come, first-serve and includes our rustic cabin by the pond, bedrooms in the house and camping. (Please note that the cabin is not heated. Those who choose to camp or lodge in the cabin - remember that this is October in Ohio, so it could be chilly.)

3. ) There are numerous inns, bed and breakfasts and cabins very nearby to True Nature. We suggest Hotel Millersburg, Zincks, The Barn InnCoblentz Country CabinsTranquil AcresFerngully Creek Cabins,  and the Comfort Inn. The Barn Inn is only about 1/4 of a mile away from True Nature and makes for a nice walk along our quiet country road. For a more complete listing, email or call us.
