HeartSpace at True Nature

A Holistic Retreat Program for Eating Disorders

Serving Patients & Loved-Ones

Recovery from an eating disorder requires both understanding and acceptance. The person at the heart of the struggle is deeply affected, as is her or his family. The intention of this branch of True Nature is to provide healing and support for all of you. Let us help you find the peace, the strength and the grace you have been seeking...right within yourself. Most people do not know the true, transformative power of a retreat. We have made it our life's work to hone our skills in this art and are honored to help you on your journey.

"Let us help you find the peace, the strength and the grace you have been seeking...right within yourself..."

Our Unique Holistic Approach

The practices of yoga, meditation and Breema can guide us to a place within ourselves where everything is already, and always has been, and always will be ok. We call this place our True Nature, and we all have the right to taste this as a real experience. With care and gentle guidance, we will meet with you for one-on-one support throughout your retreat to create a completely customized retreat. Each retreat will be refined for your specific needs. Together we have many thousands of hours of experience working with students and clients. Your retreat will include yoga, massage therapy and bodywork, meditation, mostly-organic vegetarian meals and more. This whole process helps you become comfortable with self-care practices which are empowering and create balance in all areas of your life.(Scroll farther down for more details, including cost for 2 and 3 night options, and our bios.)

About Alana and Dave Pratt

First, these retreats are for individuals who have already established a relationship with a therapist, physician and perhaps a nutritionist as well. Finding one's way through an eating disorder takes patience and time and much space consciously devoted to healing, and these retreats have been created with this in mind. We do not offer our retreats as an alternative to psychotherapy or nutritional counseling, but rather as an additional (and necessary) component of support. This leads to healing and unity of heart, body and mind.

Second, these retreats are also for the caregivers, those who are close to the person who is struggling to regain his or her life. Supporting a friend or loved-one with an eating disorder requires much of the same care and support. Parents can even come together for this restorative experience.

Receive one-on-one support and time to support yourself by journaling, taking walks and practicing what you learn while you are at True Nature.

Dave Pratt, B.A., L.M.T

Dave has been practicing massage and bodywork for twenty years, and he is a long-time meditator and a licensed massage therapist. He sees his work as an art and service to help clients re-member themselves - to uncover the vital wholeness that has not been lost. Caring and nonjudgmental touch conveys a level of acceptance that can transform how we see ourselves and our ability to relate to others. This is at the heart of Dave's approach. His intention for his work with you is to help create a comfortable atmosphere where you can benefit most from this therapeutic care. As a certified Breema Instructor, yoga instructor, and L.M.T., Dave is able to provide customized treatments that are best-suited to you. In the atmosphere of a retreat, receiving this health-care has a deeper effect. You'll have time to digest and reflect on your experience, with no need to hurry off.

Dave will also teach you simple and effective meditation to help the mind to quiet and to revitalize the body. As the relationship between body and mind is nourished, the feelings are able to more naturally regain balance. Dave also teaches Self-Breema exercises, which are harmonizing and comfortable to do, and will give you another nurturing self-care tool to work with when you return home.

Who These Retreats Are For

Alana and Dave Pratt are the "parents" of True Nature Holistic Retreats. They provide a wealth of experience and knowledge that is available to you during your stay and are dedicated to a life of service and support.

She initiated, designed and had the privilege of teaching a weekly yoga class as part of the Partial Hospitalization program at The Center for Balanced Living (an eating disorder treatment center) in Worthington, Ohio for four years (December 2010 - November 2014) before the birth of the Pratts' son, Oliver, in 2015.
